venice won this battle of hurricane season!  we are out of the woods!  so today, i hang with the kids!

after a big, "first day of school," i think steven is too tired to worry about the storm!

just in case

i am ashamed to admit, this is my pile of "hurricane supplies."  i picked up the two candles and the bic lighter at publix this afternoon.  if the power goes out, my house will be hotter %@#&, but it will smell like sweet vanilla!

good news, i may not need my candles!  the guy on the news seems to think that fay may stay way south...we are just waiting to see which way fay "shifts!"

as if the cone diagram wasn't confusing enough

this is what we call a spaghetti model!  it is a very scientific way of stating the obvious:  "we have no clue where the storm is going!"

so, we will "ride it out"

yes, florida is under attack....and the waring family plans to, "hunker down" and "ride out the storm."  what does that mean?  hell, i don't know!  they say it on the news all the time!  apparently, tropical storm, fay is on her way...she might become a hurricane, she might strike venice, she might strike naples, she might strike tampa!!!!  she might not!  right now, the map says she is headed toward ft. myers beach.  who knows!  how am i to make plans?  all i know is that i am going to hang out at the house with my kids and see what happens!  i think i'll turn on the news and check out the forecast!  when i have more news, i'll be sure to let you all know! 

should i be this happy?

i almost feel bad for feeling so happy!!!!!!!!!!  ladies, let me know if you are as happy as i am today!  this is my first time in years to have no children at home during the day!  i am sure that in a week or two, it will hit me and i'll experience some sadness, but, for today, i celebrate!  don't get me wrong, i do love them all dearly!!!!!!

the psycho scrappers are at it agian

we'll be in orlando from wednesday till sunday!  my roomies are, non other than barbara, jeannie and gina!  we learned a lot last year.  i'll have granola bars for gina's hunger issues and i believe gina will have knee pads for me, just in case there is an escalator!  through the grapevine, i learned that jeannie has the macarana dance down pat and that barbara has gained control of  her ketchup issues!!!!  it appears that this will be a wonderful event that i will get to share with some of my bestest friends!  ladies...i'll see you wednesday morning for our departure!  till then, here is a collage to get the scrap booking, orlando, fun times rollin'!

yeah, it's been a year! i can't believe it!

we are officailly, "supplied for school"

let's see, 4 3-ring binders (one blue, and three plain), 3 decorative pocket folders, 10 plain pocket folders, a pencil bag, paper towels, v-8 splash, ranch dressing, hand sanitizer times 2, 6 glue sticks, 48 pencils, water colors, 7 boxes of 24 count crayons (so i have some at home too!) 6 bottles of elmers glue (who can pass up buying a few extras at 22 cents a piece?), 450 sheets of lined filler paper, 2 packs of lysol wipes, 6 pink erasers (we make mistakes every now and then), 10 dividers for the 3-ring binders (but we only need 9), pointed scissors (we graduated from the blunt end scissors), markers (washable of course), a flash drive for computer class, shaving cream (i didn't ask, why?), 24 colored pencils, 2 spiral notebooks (we had to get the ones with the skull and cross bones) and holy molly, i don't know where the tissues are!  i just found the bag of tissues but i am not retaking the picture!

overlooked?
