8 days old!

he's such a bum!

it's been a long time since i brought the old baby scale to a photo session!  i grabbed it on my way out the door this week.  and, i am so glad i did!

the early bird gets the worm!

gage was born yesterday at noon!  i was honored with the opportunity to photograph him at 24 hours old!  all is well and he seems to be getting along just fine!  rumor has it, he will get to go home if he starts eating!  i had a stern talk with him about eating and he says he'll keep trying!

this is his mommy, gina, along with his proud aunt sharma!  there was a sticky surprise in his diaper!

what's that in his mouth?  i told him to spit that thing out and save his energy for feeding time!!

i found that all of the staff in the nicu were so sweet and nice to the visitors.  i have a lot of respect for what these women do.  i think it takes a very special person to work, day in and day out, with all of those teeny tiny babies! 

this is a side of darrell that i have never seen.  i think he might be a softy after all!

this little guy was such a trooper!   he made it through a 4 hour photo session with barely a peep!

he surprised all of us!!!!  we went up for the baby shower!  i didn't even have my camera with me!  i took this shot with my brother-in-law's cell phone while i was visiting the little guy in the nicu.

i think the water was in focus?

madison gave me a run for my money!  her mom will be pleasantly surprised with the outcome, but this is a good example of our session....

we ended the session while madeline tried to escape out her bedroom window!!!!

after i lost the battle of doing studio shots, i cut off some of the backdrop paper and gave it to all of the kids to color on!  i figure, if you can't shoot on it, color on it!!!!!!
