so, we bought the kids a computer for christmas last year! i finally got around to putting it together! yes, i know it's been 8 months, but i have a lot on my plate! so, anyways, i get the whole thing wired up according to the pictorial instruction paper! it turns on and i begin the set up process! all is well till windows starts the, "testing your computer's performance" process, then whamo, the screen jumbles up till it is unrecognizable and locks up.
i try the whole control, alt, delete thing and when that didn't work, i turned the computer off, said a short prayer and turned it back on.
beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
that's all i get is beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep after beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep with a blank screen!
now, what have i learned? if you buy a computer, it is probably best to hook it up right away! and, if you got it for like $450.00 the day after thanksgiving, it just might be a lemon! who knows what the deal is! now, in addition to my ever so reliable dell that i do all of my work on, i have a compaq from 2001 that doesn't work, an hp from 2003 that doesn't work and a compaq from 2007 that never worked! my poor kitchenette area looks like a computer grave yard!
